Promoting the use and availability of measures to prevent death from opiate overdose

The resolution is sponsored by Croatia, EU, Israel, Albania and the USA.

Budgetary implications:
Operative paragraphs 2-4 of the resolution:
– 386,000 dollars will be required to organise an expert consultation on overdose prevention and technical consultations, translation and printed guidelines, and staff costs.
– 3.8million dollars for advise to countries on overdose prevention and provide training of trainers on overdose prevention.
– 4.2 million dollars: provide grants to institutions to improve overdose prevention.

The resolution is adopted. Delegations that co-sponsor the resolution include: Chile, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Norway, Ukraine, Uruguay.
