Venezuela acknowledged that cocaine is being trafficked from Venezuela. As a transit country Venezuela participates in interdiction efforts. This is done with recognition that drug control is a joint and shared responsibility. Venezuela urged that drug control not be politicised.
Venezuelan anti-drug office has detected unusual increase of amyl-nitrate or poppers. The country has issued a plea to monitor substances that are not under international control, including chemicals used to make poppers. Venezuela has prepared a draft resolution to this end.
