A proper balance between strict drug control and medical and scientific use should not involve an excessive orientation towards health. We should strengthen drug control and fight against drug trafficking. The use of substances for medical purposes has increased every year. We do aim to address people’s needs. We also encourage the development of the use of new types of drugs and controlled substances. We promote the rational drug use at clinical level to ensure that people’s needs are met. We have developed a 3 year campaign to provide training for health professionals.
We have noted that abuse of some drugs under control, however, has become a pressing issue worldwide. We need a balance in policy making. We are ready to work with the international community to address these new challenges.
