Group considers strengthening UNODC as essential in meeting the objectives outlined in the 2009 Political Declaration on drugs.

Need to maintain a balanced approach in supply and demand reduction.

Alternative development is essential in supply reduction, and multilateral and bilateral cooperation and aid essential. In demand reduction, increased focus on ATS is needed.

Calls for continuation of efforts against opium cultivation in Afghanistan.

National and regional authorities have increased cooperation and information sharing to combat trafficking.
