Mr. Gerra provided a long presentation on the dangers and health and social consequences of drug use and dependence, especially cannabis.

He particularly focused on the health consequences of drug use on youth and women. He spoke about the barriers to access to treatment and healthcare services for women. He finally talked about the non-medical use of prescription drugs.

Mr. Gerra called on States to gather data on the amount of information provided to parents, teachers, police officers, general practitioners and media professionals about drugs.
