CND Day 3- Syria on an Integrated and Balanced Strategy to Counter the World Drug Problem

There are a number of challenges facing countries in the field of combating drug crimes and trafficking. Drugs threaten the security of society and the well-being of youth and imposes the need to join forces to curtail drugs expansion. Syria has seen an increase in the smuggling of illicit drugs.

However, they have successfully foiled smuggling operations and networks, especially hashish and ATS. Syria has responded to all requests to limit drug trafficking and worked on counter drug operations in Jordan and UAE, which has led to large-scale seizures and arrests.

Syria held meetings with colleagues in Turkey to discuss the exchange of information; joint operations and trainings and looks forward to working with states in the future.

The delegation of INCB visited Syria with a view to discuss control systems with competent authorities. this discussions included import and export of Pseudoephedrine and other precursor chemicals.
