South Africa has a growing drug problems, including drug transit and meth-amphetamine among young people are the greatest current issues.
Our government has used door-to-door campaigns in communities to educate our people and creating recreation facilities for young people to deter drug use. We will also expand treatment services in the coming years.
South Africa notes with concern the increase of almost all types of drugs in Africa and as such we should have greater support. We welcome the regional programs created by the UNODC.
We support expanding the mandate of the working group for two years
