Modern day addiction treatment is about renouncing the taking of drugs. This approach was enshrined in law by Russia. In 2010 we approved a single procedure including detoxification and other drug treatments. We use inhibitors of opioid receptors, anti-depressants, naloxone.

Medical and social rehab combines social re-integration and personality correction. In our centres, drug addiction treatment doctors along with other medical professionals and volunteers work alongside former addicts in providing medical assistance.

Many countries are restricting substitution therapies as it doesn’t cure drug addiction.Methadone isn’t a medicine, its a narcotic like heroin.
