The world drug situation is stable in demand and supply. Need more effective responses. Thailand’s drug problem is rather stable. Synthetic drugs remain a concern. “Safe Communities for Families Reunion” acknowledged that the state alone cannot fight against drugs. Appealing to the public for involvement. Drugs and other related crimes are associated with poverty; we must tackle this root cause. Appreciate support for alternative development.  For demand reduction and treatment, the government considers drug users as patients. Majority of drug offenders are no longer drug users, but drug traffickers instead. Developing a prevention program; tabled Resolution L-8. Thailand encourages more cooperation between states to keep up with drug traffickers. Importance of the UNGASS 2016 as a milestone towards our goals to be reached by 2019. In the preparatory process, Thailand pledges its full support.
